Preschool

Calvary’s nurseries and preschool rooms can be described as clean, safe, comfortable, and well-staffed havens, where little ones can rest and play while Mom and Dad grow in God’s word. Our staff of loving and trained care givers are ready to help. Child care is provided for every Bible study and service.

Children

Our children’s ministry helps meet the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and social needs of children in a warm, loving, and nurturing environment. Our primary goal is to lay a spiritual foundation for a lifetime of growing by teaching Bible truths through methods designed for children. Committed teachers use Bible stories, music, flannel graph, crafts, games, and other age-appropriate activities to teach biblical truths to children. Through Sunday School, Children’s Church, Junior Church, and Wednesday night Awana clubs, children learn to love and follow God early in life. With the help of puppets, games, special treats and loving teachers, Calvary’s children’s ministry is a fun growth experience that builds Christian character and guides children to a life of faith.

AWANA

AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) is an exciting Bible club, held on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year, where children get a uniform, earn awards, learn Bible stories,  memorize scriptures, and play fun, unique games. But most importantly, they discover how to apply the truths they learn to their everyday lives. There is a strong emphasis on evangelism as the children themselves bring their friends and neighbors to join them.

Bus Ministry

Calvary Baptist Church has an active bus ministry, whereby we visit and bring to church those children in surrounding neighborhoods who could not otherwise attend our services. We have a number of dedicated adults and youth who serve faithfully in this ministry each and every week.

Summer Program

Vacation Bible School is held each summer for children to play games and participate in fun-filled activities, while being challenged to live for Christ on a daily basis. A week-long Junior camp for elementary age children is also available during the summer, where opportunities to grow in God’s word are supplemented with outdoor activities such as swimming, horseback riding and team sports.
