Dr.
Spargo is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. He has a Bachelor
of Science degree in business from Cornell University, a Master of
Divinity degree from Luther Rice Seminary, and a Doctor of Theology degree
from Covington Theological Seminary. Dr. and Mrs. Spargo, his sweetheart
since the eighth grade, have two sons: Jonathan and Nathan.
Dr. Spargo was called to preach in 1988 and was ordained at the
Metropolitan Baptist Church of Madison, Tennessee in 1992 after almost 15
years in the business world working for several major corporations.
Following his ordination, Pastor Spargo resigned his position as Vice
President of an international printing corporation to serve as the
Associate Pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida.
In 1995 Pastor Spargo moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he became
Associate Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church and Assistant Professor of
Christian Education at Trinity Baptist College. In June 2001 he moved to
Montgomery, Alabama to become Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.
Stephen Burch joined the
pastoral staff of Calvary Baptist Church in July of 2005. He is a
graduate of Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida , where he
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Ministries. He was ordained
at the Rochester Hills Baptist Church of Rochester Hills, Michigan in
2005. His ministry responsibilities include ministering each week as
the Music and Children's Pastor. Stephen serves the Lord at
Calvary with his wife, Erica. They are the proud parents of a son,
David.
Jonathan Spargo joined the pastoral staff in May 2007 after receiving
his B.S. Degree in Church Ministries with a concentration in Youth
Ministry from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida. He was
ordained at Calvary Baptist Church.
His responsibilities include ministering to the youth on a weekly basis
as well as managing the missions ministry. Jonathan
and his wife, Stephanie, enjoy serving in ministry together with their
two children, Adison Dean and Kaelyn Elise.
