Calvary Baptist Church

March 29, 2020 Service update

Calvary Family,

Considering the recent public safety conditions set forth by Governor Ivey on Friday, March 27, 2020 we will be moving our services to an online venue.  We will continue online services through the next three Sundays and reevaluate after April 17th.  As followers of Christ we want to be good neighbors to our brothers and sisters in Christ as well as our community around us.  In order to be a loving neighbor sometimes that means we must quarantine ourselves.  The bible gave multiple instructions to the Israelites to prevent the spread of germs.  They were to wash themselves and even in some cases to isolate the sick.  In our current time we are dealing with people who could be sick and not exhibiting symptoms for several days and unknowingly spreading the virus a quarantine is understandable.

As we practice being good neighbors, we will be offering online services through our website, YouTube, and Facebook.  I encourage those who use Facebook to like and share our church’s page (   We have also set up a link on our churches website ( where we will post the service on Sunday at 10:30 AM.  The online platform on our church’s website will allow you to create a login and chat with everyone as well.  We have created a YouTube channel (Calvary Montgomery) that we will be posting the services to as well.  We will be utilizing these methods for Sunday AM and Wednesday services.  Our Sunday evening life groups will be held at the normal time Sunday at 5 PM through Zoom video conferencing.  You will have to set up a free account.  Once your account is set up please send me an email ( that you would like to use, and I will send you an invitation to our conference.

These are unprecedented times and require a deeper commitment than ever to the work of God.  I encourage you to stay connected as much as possible through the videos and conferencing venues.  I would also like to mention that we have everything set up through our website for online giving through PayPal.  Please remember that while we are not on site the expenses still are and every tithe dollar counts.  You may also mail your check to Calvary Baptist Church 8197 Decker Lane Montgomery, AL 36117.

Through this time, it is my prayer that we use this as a gift to engage and connect with people in new ways.  I pray that this is an opportunity to take some personal time to reflect on your personal relationship with God and become more intimate with Him than ever before.  I pray God blesses each one of you and continues to use you for His honor and glory!
